Three years ago I moved to Berlin after eight years in Graz. I lived all this time in the same flat, at Klosterwiesgasse n. 4. The last few times I came back to visit, my name was still on the doorbell. An empty space marked with my name to which I no longer have access.
Our life experiences are always tied to a space. Often they play a secondary role, they are simply in the background. But at other times they are the protagonists and the activators of emotions, memories, smells... With the passage of time, the details become blurred and the memories become simpler and simpler, leading to a reduction to "the essential": this can be of great emotional value, or something totally banal.
"Love in m²" is an experimental exercise in spatial projection through imagination. In the performance I invite the audience to imagine my former flat unfolding three themes: context, dimensions and sensorial experiences. The context and the configuration of the flat takes shape through my body moving in a scenography that serves as a three-dimensional measuring tool. Followed by a meditation I shared past experiences offered by the architectural peculiarities of the flat.
"Love in m²" is the first work within the artistic project "Experiencing Architecture".
